Time Kfuc

Posted by William Good on Sep 16, 2009

So Time Kcfu just got added to the portal on Newgrounds if you havn’t played it yet, PLAY IT NOW!  There was lots of last minute changes, and crazy newgrounds API stuff going on, but i think its up and running!  I know most people have read about what Edmund has written about the game, but i thought i would give you some perspective on what i thought!

When starting this game, it was so basic! No, i mean like SOOO basic!  But as time went on, Edmund and I kept adding to it, and discussing story, and going over meaning.  Every step of the way there was colaboration going on, and i dont think we could have gotten a game like this without all the back and forth.

I think when you play the game, it will mean a slightly different thing each person that plays it.  It really draws on the heart strings of human indecision and things like destiny.  I think a vast majority of players wont look into it that much, but i think anyone that does, will be really happy with what they see.

I am working on my next game already, and i would love your input on Time Fkcu so that i can take in all the likes and dislikes and help me create an even better second game!

I’ve really enjoyed what I have played so far. Lots of death caused from me not paying attention, but I’m starting to learn how it works.

I’ve been encountering the white screen glitch, but Edmond just posted on RPS that it is being worked on right now, so I’ll play more tomorrow, and report back with full opinion when I have finished it.

Well, I just finished it, and it was a lot of fun.

I really enjoyed how for some levels I initially had no idea what to do, so I experimented, and could pretty much always eventually work out a solution, although sometimes pure trial and error found a solution for me.

I think I might try making a level.

wow…and wow again! What a mind blast!!! every level was intense, and the storyline was just brilliant matrix like!! I enjoyed my time in the box, I loved the music and I cant thank you enough for this amazing ride! I’m reminded slightly of a game I played once on DosBox called 1213…you awaken to find yourself going through all these labyrinths only to find out something very twisted in the end!! I would love to collaborate with you in the future, if ever you wish to do so! Peace out!

Very good, and thats why i’m more so annoyed by this editor thing.. When you test your level, there is still this tempting looking x to quit you to main menu. Couple of times I have been testing level, accidentally pressed x, thinking to go back to edit screen, and brought to menu screen with map i’ve been working about hour or so, erased. So my wish is to get rid of that and least put some prompt before exiting the whole thing.

This is an outstandingly creepy game. Usually I don’t have enough determination to finish a puzzle game, but the story pulled me through.

I see some parallels with Portal, which also motivated players using a character that taunts and cajoles. You’ve taken it even further by making that character and the player character one and the same! If I identify with the player character then I’m identifying with the villain as well.

The puzzle design is nice. They’re all really minimalistic puzzles; no red herrings and almost no repetition. It’s almost too minimalistic, I don’t remember seeing any partial solutions lying around hinting at the real one.

I got stuck and used sleeps on:
– deep cuts
– xsplinterx (then figured it out later)
– in-n-out

Hi, i just finished Time Fcuk and i just wanted to let you know that i’m really impressed by what you guys did. It’s not only a fun and challenging puzzle game but the back story has a lot of depth.

During game play i became completely submerged in the dark and brooding atmosphere. Thank you for this rewarding experience. Well done!

Hi,

this game is really great.
I’ve played it a little on linux and windows and discovered that there are different levels?

When you sleep in last level you don’t see outro. Is this a bug?

Is there any explaination to box creation (for the first time)?

Extremely emotional game. Proves that videogames really are a viable art form. Would you mind posting your own meaning of the game? It’d mean a lot to me.

Amazing. I just finished the game in one run without “sleeping” and I may say that this is probably the best flash-game I have ever played. I truly had almost non-stop goosebumps for about 30 minutes and even after that it gave me the creeps periodically till the game ended.

The gameplay and the story seem to merge somehow what might perhaps be the reason for the incredible experience I had. How did you come up with that? See, this fusion of story and gameplay is so … acroamatic, so profound. It simply blew my mind. Are you guys philosophy students or what enabled you to create something this awesome?

Awesome, this is just as awesome as logic games can get nowadays…
